About Trisha Harvey

For over 26 years, I ran a successful, specialised, skincare treatment business Thorntonhall Therapies together with my wellness business Thorntonhall thinAir Therapy. I am also a sports masseuse, a qualified Power Plate and Gyrotonic trainer. I have been interested in sports throughout my life, and I am an avid sportswoman which is the reason I opened Thorntonhall thinAir Therapy October 2023.

Sporting background and Scottish cycling champion

I have always loved sports. I did my first marathon in 2000 in a respectable time of 4 hrs 3 minutes. In 2001, I became the Scottish 100m time trial champion and I was also a member of the 100-mile Scottish tandem (2 person) team. Unfortunately, at the end of the event, in which the tandem team smashed the record, the course was found out to be 500m short!

British Ironwoman Champion 2002

In 2002, I became British Ironwoman Triathlon Champion (2.4-mile swim, 112 miles on the bike and then a marathon) at the age of 43 in a time of 10 hours 56 minutes, a fantastic achievement. I was asked to represent Great Britian in the GB Team in 2002 and 2003.

British Ironwoman Champion 2002

In December 2023, I completed an Ice Mile swim in Yorkshire at the age of 63. This challenging feat involves swimming one mile in water temperatures below 5°C while wearing only a standard swimming costume, cap, and goggles. This made me an Iron Icewoman, the oldest, and the 15th female in the world to achieve this. To top off 2022, I was mentioned in the top 10 hot streak female swimmers. In July 2024 I walked around Jersey, 48 miles, in an impressive time of 13 hours 44 minutes. In December 2024 I swam 500m and 1000m at the GB British Ice Championships and got 2 firsts in my age group, qualifying for the Worlds in Molveno in Italy January 2025. At the Worlds I won bronze in 500m and gold in 1000m in my age group. My achievement highlights my dedication to pushing personal limits and serves as a reminder that age does not have to be a barrier to pursuing ambitious goals. Through my professional practice and personal endeavours, I encourage others to consider their own health and fitness journeys, recently opening my thinAir business in 2023.

My thinAir journey

I purchased my thinAir machine in September 2023 after visiting a wellness centre that had a machine. It was described to me as a machine to help your breathing, and as someone who is very focused on correct breathing techniques, I was intrigued. After researching online and speaking with Chris, the inventor, I ordered one without even trying it My primary reason for purchasing the thinAir machine was for my own use, as I am very involved in sports and constantly seek new challenges. The machine delivers adaptive oxygen therapy, providing personalised wellness for everyone. It gradually reduces your oxygen intake, which helps to strengthen your heart and lungs, and aids in recovery, repair, and regeneration. Using thinAir has significantly enhanced my fitness by helping me recover more quickly from training, improved my fitness, increased my energy levels, and helps me keep inflammation at bay reducing injury time. And we all know that inflammation is ‘the route of all evil’. Every injury and most illness all start with inflammation. It allows me to be the best version of myself and, wonderfully, it also helps to slow down the aging process. I absolutely love this machine.
